After playing many games like this which have a better storage/crafting system, it's really hard to play this game tbh
Standard type character is strongly recommended over hardcore, for all players. It is also recommended that new players start in a normal mode world. Hard mode currently doubles the health and damage of all enemies and bosses, for little to no pay-off.
When playing in a group, I suppose you can build up an item pool where everyone can find the things they need. But when playing solo, you sometimes just have to farm specific enemies until the one item you're after drops eventually.
Sure, Core Keeper horrified me when I knocked a wall down and a bunch of squirming, squeaking larvae jumped in my face.

Yes, Co-op is probably only really worth doing if you plan on building a huge base or Core Keeper Gameplay if youre really struggling. I only have 10 hours in the game but I think ive seen most of what this game has to offer, for now anyway.
